Eukaryotic assemblies in INSDC databases and the fraction contributed by EBP

Notes: Each arc represents one taxonomic rank (species through phylum); the light grey background shows the total eukaryotic taxa in NCBI taxonomy, the light colored segment shows taxa with any INSDC assembly, and the darker overlap shows taxa with at least one EBP-affiliated assembly. Coverage counts taxa with at least one submitted assembly regardless of quality, reflecting taxonomic breadth rather than assembly completeness.

Eukaryotic assemblies meeting EBP-standard metrics

Notes: This chart shows the number of taxa at each taxonomic rank for which at least one genome assembly in GoaT meets the proxy EBP quality thresholds. The EBP standard criteria here reflect GoaT's relaxed interpretation of EBP assembly standards, based on available data. This assessment uses a subset of the metrics recommended in the EBP Scientific Subcommittee's Report on Assembly Standards, specifically: contig and scaffold N50, and the percentage of sequences assigned to chromosomes. Counts here therefore represent a subset of assemblies that partially fulfil EBP standards, not a fully certified assessment. See the GoaT FAQs for details on how these categories are calculated. The grey background is identical to the chart above (total eukaryotic taxa), making the two charts directly comparable.
